SHORT DESCRIPTION

- Sustainable designing can be various in types and ways, in the project, the location will be taken as the first consideration, which inevitably influences the design. Due to the site, Rayong, the architect, decided to go with using sustainable materials and consuming local materials as the main issue to reduce transportation energy as a part of designing this studio. Rayong is typically surrounded by industrial estate and is also known as Thailand’s highest Gross Provincial Product (GPP) province; mass construction is therefore unavoidable. As a result, a large amount of concrete is used in construction. Generally, every 20 cubic meters of concrete requires a strength test, which is done by using 3 balls of cement concrete. After the test ,the cement balls are waste. Since Rayong’s character is overly obvious, it inspires the idea of creating usefulness from the unuseful, in terms of architecture as the skin of the building. Not only indicates speciality but also simple in construction. Besides concrete, bamboo is also chosen as the main material. The ingenuous building formation is designed particularly for space working with oil paint. Due to the constant evaporation of oil paint’s medium, it requires adequate ventilation, otherwise it could affect the artist's health in the long term. According to the condition, bamboo batten walls were used as a design element. To conclude, Furnish studio is designed based on sustainability along with the idea of bringing back the value of the unuseful element as a useful and aesthetic component of architecture -
