SHORT DESCRIPTION
”The sea and nature” The Goodman Group was founded in Sydney more than 20 years ago to own, develop, and manage industrial real estate. In recent years, the demand for logistics warehouses has increased, and the number of people working there has grown dramatically. In addition, workers often spend all day inside logistics warehouses, increasing the demand for refreshment space for workers. For this project, we designed a 470 m2 amenity space within a large 154,000 m2 logistics warehouse that allows workers to feel the "ocean and nature" of Australia, where the Goodman Group headquarters is located. The ceiling is made of stainless steel with a gradation of surfaces from mirrored to vibrating to make the space look like the surface of the ocean, and the walls are made of reflective materials to create a space where one can feel the movement of people, clouds, and the sun. The plant is made to look like seaweed to express the undersea environment. The walls are covered with tiles with an ancient Japanese pattern called "seigaiha" (blue ocean waves), which means "to receive the benefits of the wide ocean, and like the waves that spread out infinitely, happiness will continue forever" and was adopted as an icon to connect Australia and Japan. We hope that employees can feel ”the sea and nature” there, and after relaxing and refreshing they can easily go back to work with a peace of their mind.
