SHORT DESCRIPTION

This project, the first INNERJOY development in Fujian, is located in Licheng District, Putian City. Historically, the term "Yue" not only conveys a sense of inner satisfaction and joy but also reflects the ideal of retreating from official life to a serene existence in nature, a dream cherished by Chinese scholars. Due to the incomplete surrounding city roads, the site, hidden behind a grove of tall lychee trees, evokes a sense of being in a secluded paradise. The southern part of the site is planned for a municipal park, featuring undulating terrain and a river running through it. The overall design concept incorporates the planned municipal road as a guiding space and includes the municipal park within the display area, creating an atmosphere where winding paths lead to tranquil and expansive spaces. The introduction of multi-sensory research perspectives into the design serves as both the concept and method, simulating natural forms and creating an immersive bodily experience. The horizontal and vertical walls with varying heights enclose the space, shaping the "garden" concept, making the space feel comfortable and natural. The project creates a four-layered journey home inspired by the aesthetics of Eastern charm: the jacaranda-lined avenue, ceremonial front courtyard, gate courtyard, and hidden landscape garden, alongside three ceremonial nodes—gate hall, pavilion hall, and main hall. These elements are connected through corridors of light and shadow, gradually revealing the elegance and order of contemporary Eastern aesthetics, with each step offering a new scene. The "JOY" series garden focuses on creating a sense of "breathability" within this small space. Drawing inspiration from the Jiangnan private garden "Yi Garden," utilizing classical Chinese garden design techniques such as framing, borrowing, and screening views, the garden seamlessly combines pavilions, terraces, and rockeries, creating an oriental landscape garden that invites exploration, observation, enjoyment, and residence.
