SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Origin: The design was initially inspired by reflections on the future of cultural heritage in the AI era. As the research progressed, the reflections expanded to our sense of identity, belonging, and self-confidence in a world increasingly shaped by AI. Culture is our root, essential for redefining who we are in this new age. Seamlessly integrating diverse cultures into our daily lives requires a breakthrough. Pattern, as cultural and historical symbols and symbol derivatives, serve as strong visual anchors that connect various cultures to us. The Ecosystem Design: After conducting user research, I realized that simply having patterns around us is different from recognizing their existence and cultural significance. The real challenge lies in effectively raising public awareness about patterns and using this awareness to foster a deeper understanding of different cultures and histories. Further research showed that creating a positive environment where patterns are woven into local businesses to foster daily cultural interactions is crucial for revitalizing cultural gene. Thus, designing a fun, accessible, and exploratory user experience within a pattern-integrated ecosystem that connects our daily life, cultures, and local businesses is crucial. It will engage all stakeholders with win-win outcomes, while adding a tangible and inclusive cultural layer to the city.
