SHORT DESCRIPTION

This residence is a tribute to the wabi-sabi aesthetic, embracing simplicity, imperfection, and the quiet beauty of natural materials. The design centers on textured plaster finishes and warm wooden elements, shaping a serene and organic living environment. Responding to the homeowner’s refined artistic sensibilities, the design introduces curved lines across ceilings and walls to soften spatial boundaries, ease visual tension, and minimize collision risk—creating a home that is both safe and rhythmically inviting. In the communal areas, a palette of crisp whites and warm wood tones weaves together a sense of calm and gentle domesticity. The sofa’s backdrop is defined by glass brick partitions, which softly delineate zones while inviting diffused natural light—adding both transparency and refined layering to the interior. Along the vertical surfaces, terrazzo finishes with their earthy textures and organic patterns evoke a grounded, tranquil spirit, enriching the minimalist aesthetic with quiet, tactile detail. The private areas are thoughtfully designed to maximize natural light through window-lined layouts and glass-front cabinetry, blending seamlessly with indirect lighting strips. This interplay of sunlight and ambient illumination enhances the home’s tranquil ambiance while expanding perceived spatial depth. A custom-designed music room—tailored to the homeowner, a professional musician—offers a dedicated space for performance and practice, harmonizing professional function with residential comfort. Moreover, the integration of generous storage cabinetry and refined louvered accents adds depth and visual rhythm, enabling form and function to coexist effortlessly in a thoughtfully composed environment. Guided by a commitment to sustainability, the design incorporates extensive use of glass to enhance natural lighting and spatial transparency, thereby reducing dependence on artificial illumination and supporting energy-saving, low-carbon principles. At the same time, natural wood was selected for its biodegradable and low-emission properties, reflecting the project’s environmentally conscious foundation.
