SHORT DESCRIPTION

ChorusLife is an innovative urban regeneration project located in Bergamo, Italy, designed to rethink the relationship between architecture, space, and community. Unlike traditional projects focused on building volume, ChorusLife is guided by the principle of “void over volume,” which prioritizes open, social, and shared spaces rather than dense construction. This approach fosters stronger community bonds and promotes inclusivity. At the heart of the project stands the ChorusLife Arena, a multifunctional civic hub designed to host a wide variety of activities. It is not only a sports venue but also a space for concerts, conventions, and daily cultural events, making it a dynamic center of urban life. The Arena features a cutting-edge kinetic façade composed of wind-responsive aluminum tiles that react to environmental changes, creating a living dialogue between the building and its surroundings. Inside, the Arena offers full spatial transformability, enabled by advanced technology that allows the space to be easily adapted for different types of events and gatherings. This flexibility ensures that the venue can accommodate diverse community needs, from athletic competitions to large-scale performances or smaller, more intimate gatherings. Beyond the Arena itself, ChorusLife envisions a smart, connected district driven by a sophisticated digital ecosystem. This system manages public services, energy consumption, and event coordination, promoting sustainability and efficient urban management. The entire project emphasizes human-centered architecture, where buildings serve the people, fostering interaction across different generations and social groups. ChorusLife sets a new benchmark in urban design by transforming public space into a living platform for shared experiences and evolving urban identity. It exemplifies how architecture can be both functional and inspiring, creating vibrant communities grounded in openness, technology, and sustainability.
